The host hotel is where we will begin and end drives. You are not required to stay there.
Host hotels were selected by trying to get the best value for your dollar which means excellent reviews by TripAdvisor at a reasonable price for that level of quality room for that town. Please use our block of rooms in Canon City where we have reserved most of the rooms in the motel.
Please make your room reservations as soon as possible. All of the rooms offer free cancellation as long as it is done 0-3 days prior to arrival, depending on the hotel. Only the Gateway Inn in Grand Lake requires a 1 night pre-payment which is refunded if you cancel. August is the peak Colorado tourist season so prices will increase as August approaches. On some recent TT West drives, prices doubled or were sold out between registration and the date of the drive, so don’t miss out.
Trinidad, CO Sunday night August 17
The host hotel is the La Quinta at 2833 Toupal Drive, phone 719-845-0102. Free hot breakfast. AAA discount rate is $127 for 2 queens or $136 for a king. Free cancelation until 6 PM day of arrival. Check-in is 3 PM.
Canon City, CO Monday night August 18
The host hotel is the Parkview Inn Motel at 231 Royal Gorge Blvd, phone 719-338-7237. Free continental breakfast. Grab the breakfast items and then take them back to your room. This is a single story recently renovated 1950’s era 25 room motel that has excellent Tripadvisor reviews and has been inspected by a member of the TT West Committee. We have reserved almost the entire motel until April 30. To reserve these rooms, you must call the motel and ask for the TT West rooms. If you try to reserve a room on line, it may indicate that they are sold out. Rates are $105 for a room with 2 double beds to $115 for a king bed room. Free cancellation until August 17.
The only alternative we can recommend is the modern but more expensive Best Western Canon City at 110 Latigo Lane, phone 719-275-2400. Free hot breakfast and an indoor heated pool. AAA discount rate is $146 for a king room. Free cancelation until August 17.
Grand Lake, CO Tuesday and Wednesday night August 19 & 20
The host hotel is the Gateway Inn at 120 Lake Avenue, phone 877-627-1352. Rates are $259 per night for a king room to $289 per night for a king with a walk-out balcony and fireplace. 10% Discounts are offered for AAA, AARP, and military but you have to call to get the discount between 8 AM and 8 PM Mountain time. A deposit of first night charges is required to make a reservation. Free cancellation with a full return of your deposit until August 17. The hotel does not have laundry facilities.
Carbondale, CO Thursday and Friday night August 21 & 22
The host hotel is the Days Inn at 950 Cowen Drive, phone 970-963-9111. AAA Rates are an average of $195 a night for a room with 2 queens. Free breakfast. It is a modern 2 story hotel but no elevator for second floor rooms. Check out Saturday is 11 AM. Free cancelation until August 18.
